This bird is laced with the flank stripes in black color. Its tail is chestnut sided. Chakor is called the non-migratory terrestrial species that makes the groups outside the season of breeding. In the time of disturbance, Chakor likes to run instead of flying. If flying in necessary, it makes the flying for a shorter distance on rounded wings. Chakor eats seeds and roots.
It also takes insects as necessary protein supply.
